If women feel insecure or unsafe when training with men then they can participate in same-sex classes. Either way, the point is to learn the techniques and self-defense positions by any means possible so that you can use them when the time arises. What if you never get attacked on the street you might be asking? It’s certainly possible that you’ll never need to use the techniques that you learned in Jiu-Jitsu in the real world. The question you should really be asking yourself is this: what happens if you do get attacked on the street and you don’t know Jiu-Jitsu?
